Golf doesn't need reinventing. It just needs rediscovering.
For too long, the modern golf wardrobe has felt safe, predictable, and—dare we say it—a bit forgettable. As two friends with a shared obsession for the game and an even deeper enthusiasm for 90s vintage, we found ourselves asking a simple question: Why does meeting a dress code have to mean blending in?
Today, we are officially teeing off. Welcome to the first chapter of Links Vintage.
The Spark: From the UK to Japan
The idea for Links Vintage wasn’t born in a boardroom; it was born on the course and solidified during a trip to Japan.
While traveling, we noticed something transformative. In Japan, a younger, more expressive generation was playing golf differently. They weren't just showing up to play 18 holes; they were showing up to make a statement. They treated vintage pieces not just as "old clothes," but as armor for individuality.
We looked back at the UK scene and saw a gap. We saw younger players who wanted more personality, more creative freedom, and more soul in their Sunday bag. We realized that the "Golden Era" of golf style—the 90s country club aesthetic and Y2K sportswear—held the key to the modern golfer’s wardrobe.
Why Vintage?
We believe that vintage isn't just about nostalgia; it’s about better clothing.
Older pieces from the names that built the game—TaylorMade, Nike, Mizuno, Titleist—were built differently. They utilized heavier fabrics, cleaner cuts, and intricate embroidery that modern fast-fashion simply can’t replicate. By sourcing and preparing these garments for a second life, we aren't just preserving style; we’re advocating for a more sustainable, considered way to shop.
Every item in our collection is a "one of one." Once it’s gone, it’s out of the archives for good.
Drop 01: The Archives are Open
For our first official drop, we’ve focused on the core essentials of a "Links" wardrobe. We’ve scoured the archives for pieces that feel relevant now—not just old.
What to expect in Drop 01:
-
90s Performance Layers: Heavyweight TaylorMade windshirts and Nike 1/4 zips.
-
Textured Knits: Timeless V-neck jumpers from Mizuno and Titleist that bring "Old Money" cool to the modern range.
-
Iconic Branding: Classic logos that represent the heritage of the sport.
